Burning Paper: Simulation at the Fiber's Level
This project presents a physically based technique to simulate the burning behavior of paper, using a mass-spring system coupled to a heat propagation solver. Using characteristic parameters of paper, like size, grammage, dimensional stability, specific heat and thermal conductivity, we simulate the crumpling and mesh deformation, like burning of paper. In addition we propose an algorithm to horizontally or vertically cut the mass-spring system, simulating the fracture of real burned paper.
