I've not been extremely quick this time to tell you guys I arrived safely. But if my plane had crashed, you would probably know anyway ! So the conference has begun, and the partys as well. Yesterday, I've been quite serious ... maybe because my hotel is near the conference center, so about 2 miles away from the towncenter where we finish every day ...
But still, as I am crazy, I had to do some crazy thingy. Two days ago, while having some beers at the downtown hotel where everyone is staying, I talked with a student of a friend about boats. I'm not sure why we began to talk about that, but swimming, boats, sea was quite of a nice topic to talk about. Maybe because we had lobster at the Barking Crab just before, while having the boats around (by the way, some people should learn how to eat lobster !!! I was brilliant of course, lots of training obvisouly ;-) ). So, after the beer drinking Ii had to go back to my hotel (30-45 minutes walk). And the guy insisted for accompanying me ... So, en route, we had the great idea of stopping by the boats. However, we did not take the right road and missing the bridge to cross over the water and arrived in a marina ! So, lots of boats !!
So we jumped over the closed portal and went see the boats. The first one we had chose was already taken my some homeless guy ! sigh ! So we picked a second one. As I was removing my shoes to put my feet in the water, the guy removed his pants and sprang into the water ! So, what the hell, I did the same !! It was still so hot outside, and the water was so goooood !! So we had a tea party in the harbor of Boston ! lol
Hopefully, we managed to escape the guard who came around by hiding behind a boat, and we went quite far in the middle of the marina to play the pirates ... great time and we did not get arrested !!
The funny thing is that the next day, I talked with a friend about this and he told me that in all Siggraph history, just once it happened that someone got arrested and spent the night in jail: it was because he had swimmed in the river at night in New Orleans :-) hihi
