Jejeje, my phone line is back !!! What a surprised when I heard the phone ring tonight: it was Telefonica checking they had connected the right line to the right number !!! It was time to come back. I couldn't handle the workload anymore. So well, tonight, I will start to answer late emails, apply to some universities, pay my bills and check on my elfe ! All the things I have been delaying...
I also wanted to talk about teaching (among other things)... First of all, my class on character animation finished last Fri. I asked the students to evaluate the class and the result is the following:
- what did you dislike ? : the class was too short, it's one of the best lectures, it should have more hours.
- what did you like ? : everything. The mix of theory and practice with Maya. The content of the class was exactly what I was expecting.
- How could the lecture be improved ? : By adding more hours of class and extending to also C++ programmation [totally what I would have done if I had more time]. To have more time, simply remove the first part of the class done by the other prof.
I thought the last comment was hilarious, and I felt very very proud at that moment. Despite the newness of the lecture, I am very happy that the students enjoyed it very much, had only very positive comments and would like to just keep my part and extend it ;-)
The coming semester, I teach again my basic animation class. In this one, I managed to remove one of the two other profs (we were too many and she did non-sense) so it's great because I have some part of the course already prepared AND I will have a few more hours to teach the whole thing. In addition, I have an undergrad lecture from the bilingual program. In the first part of the lecture, there were only 3 students. 2 of them never showed up to class and it's not even sure the last one pass the exam, so I might end up with no students (at best 3 of them)... Which is very annoying because it's a dummy topic about Computer Architecture and I have to prepare everything from scratch for eventually 1 student. Quite an overhead !
Anyways, my Internet is back, and THIS is awesome ! |
